Brooks, before ho was sihot to death In •the 'G-len Island Hotel, was drugged.This information was furnished to Assistant Distrlct-Attorneys Schurman and Kro'tel yesterday by Dr. J. W. Sweeney, who was first called to the hotel after the body of Brooks had .been discovered.According to Dr. iSweenej% there was a distinct odor of chloral about the mouth of the dying man, which would Indicate that knockout drops had beenadministered 'before ‘the fatal shot was fired.Dr. Johtnson and Dr. Beckwith, of the Hudson Street Hospital, whither Brooks was taken tfrom the Glen Island Hotel, were also at the District-Attorney’s office yesterday.
