X { sCost people by tn^ time are pretty familiar with tbe facta m connection withthe case; bat such is the Werest felt both\here and elsewhere that we give our read -era the latest particulars in regard to it.The grand jury is busily engaged investigating the outrage. The examination of the victim of the mob occupied all Mon, day afternoon and all forenoon of Tuesday -His wife followed him with some damaging evidence to the guilty parties, and also «her two daughters, Miss Jessie and Miss Edna. They claimed to have recognized nearly all the participators; some of whom1 have skipped out. The examination will probably last all week and startling developments are expected. The relativeshere are determined that justice shall bedone their much injured brother, and great as the outrage was, we are glad to learn that they are trusting to the properly constituted tribunal for redress. The pretense of attempting to extort a confession from Samuel Ewing as to who poisoned the stock of Dr. Biddinger, is likely to be proved a subterfuge; and in doing so an attempt will be made to. show that the party who really poisoned thestock lives in the same house with the doctor.A report is current that Dr. Biddinger and family have removed to Columbus to escape the wrath of the Ewing family, but it lacks confirmation. Their presence at Columbus is accounted for by their bsin g subpoenaed by the Sheriff last Saturday.Several interesting items have otne tolight in the course of tne investigation; among them the following;A young man of that neighborhood has been for some time engaged to a yourg lady. The marriage was to take place this week, and the expectant has her tr os-seau ready. Her true love has gotten wind of the fact that evidence has beenfound ag»in3t him as one of the lynchers, and consequently the wedding is off until it is discovered what action the grand jury will take against him. The would-be bride has been unfortunate before, a previous wedding v^h another having been postponed indefinitely. Those interested in discovering who poisoned Dr. Biddinger’s horses consulted a clairvoyant, who went into a trance and told them wonderful things. It is baleived that her information had very much to do with the action and suspicions against Ewing.
