TWIN CITY POLICE BLAME WISCONSIN POST OFFICE ROBBERY TO GANG.St. Paul, March 3 (UP)—Solution of a Wisconsin post office robbery, a Minnesota bank holdup and numerous tortures, hi-jackings and holdups in the two states was caimed by Twin City police today in the capture of five men and a woman alleged to have been associated with two men already under arrest in a cold blooded gang of desperadoes.The roundup‘resulted from the arrest of Anthony §mith, 33, former St. Paul boxer, at Superior, Wis., a suspect in the St. Stephens, Minn., bank robbery February 16 in which a bystander was shot.Smith has neen returned to St. Paul and will be sent to St. Cloud for trial. He also has been identified in the rpore spectacular of the other crimes charged to the gang.Another alleged member of the gang, Vic Anderson, Minneapolis, was found to be serving 90 days in the Minneapolis work house on a liquor charge.The other men under arrest in the Twin Cities are: Elmer Whistler,Clarence Whistler, James Stoffel and Raymond Sartwell, all of St. Paul, and Sylvester Mobecker, 25, Cologne roadhouse owner in Chas-ka.The woman in the case is being j held by St. Paul police as a material witness.
