WOMAN SLAYERBrags of Hej Ability to Shootft*rs. Ada Owsley, Formerly of Madison, Puzzled Because Some Bullets Missed Mark.The Louisville Courier-Journal has the following additional parti* culars in regard to the killing of Owsley by his wile:Benjamin Owsley, a carpenter, who formerly lived in Louisville,wasshot and killed by his wife, Mrs. AdaOwBley,at their home in St. Louis, Mo., Sunday afternoon, according to messages received by six of Owsley's children by-a formermarriage, who live in this city. All of the children, four daughters and two sons, departed yesterday morning for St. Louis.The message received by Miss Helen Owsley, one of the daughters, who boards at the home of W. E Sampson, 134 Pennsylvania avenue, Crescent Hill, only stated that ‘‘Father was killed.”Upon receipt of the message Miss Owslej exclaimed, “Til bet she killed him.” She told of domestic quarrels between her father and stepmother when she visited them in St. Louis last summer and on the occasion of their visit to Louisvillelast Christmas.Mrs. Owsley said the quarrel began at the table and that Owsley got up and walked from the room, saying: “I’m going to fix you.” “He asked where his revolver was kept and 1 directed him to a trunk in another room,” Mrs. Owsley told the police. “He returned without the pistol and again abused me. Then he went to the room for the pistol a second time, and on his re* turn I began shooting. He kept coming and I fired until he dropped. I was surprised he stood up so long, as I am a crack shot and thought several of the shots must have hit him.”He was struck three times;Mrs. Owsley was sent to the St. Louis city hospital to have her wounds dressed and was said to be in a semi-hysterical state. A charge of murder was placed against her.All of the children with the exception of a son, Robert Owsley, came to LouiBville with their father when he separated from his first wife.A dispatch to the Indianapolis Star from St. Louis says:Boasting of marksmanship withfirearms, Which she says enables her to shoot nuts from trees and kill rats on the ground from a second story window, Mrs. Ada Owsley, 36 years old, formerly of Madison, Ind., this morning told how she slew her husband yesterday. Benjamin S. Owsley, a car builder, the husband, was shot in their home, 1219 Warrenstreet.cWhen Owsley went to get a re* volver she took the weapon from the washstand, where she kept it.“I began firing at him when he came back through the doorway,” Mrs. Owsley said: “He kept on coming. I thought that was funny, because I am a crack shot. I kept on firing until he fell. I don't know how many shots I fired.“Once he turned and started in the direction from which he was coming. Then he turned 'back and fell as I kept on firing.”The wound which killed Owsley, it is said, entered his back and penetrated bis body. He was shot in the left band also. Rickelt6 declared that his mother had undergone an operation several years ago and that shenever recovered her strength. ^De-spite her condition, he said, his mother frequently had been severely beaten by Owsley.Mrs. Owsley's first husband was John Ricketts, who died after they had been married five years. Her second husband was Joseph Schneider, whom she divorced after five years. Owsley, a member of an oldKentucky family, was divorced frombis first wife.At the observation ward of the City Hospital, Mrs. Owsley is beingguarded closely by Patrolman Geo.Roblfling, who captured Arthur Bittner, recently convicted of slaying his father. ^
