It will be a most unusual event for the United States, and members of the band from every state in the union and from foreign countries as well will be present at the coronation. One thousand gypsies are expected by the date of the ceremony.The young queen will reach her twentieth year on May 22, and as a law of the t ribe prescribes that a sovereign must not be crowned before attaining that age the coronation will not take place before that date. She is known as Molly Stanley, or, more properly, Molly Staekovitch, and her mother, the old queen, was Sofia Fryer, and for more than 40 years reigned as head of the Itomany tribe in Austria. She died several days ago, and as the band of which the young queen is a member was on its way to Topeka when word of her death was received, it was decided to camp there until spring and hold the coronation ceremonies in that city. Accordingly word was sent out to the different bands of the tribe throughout the United States, and already several hundred gypsies have started on the overland trip to Topeka to be present1 at the crowning of their queen.The crown that was placed on the head of “Queen Sofia” over 40 years ago is now on its way to Kansas to be placed on the head of her only daughter.
