ELIZABETH BANKCLOSES ITS DOORSThe Elizabeth Bank closed its doors Wednesday morning and the matter of the appointment of a receiver will come up before Judge T. J. Wilson tomorrow. W. E. Cook, president, and B. S. and G. W. Applegate, vice presidents of the defunct Corydon National Bank, were the principal stockholders in the Elizabeth institution and Mr. Cook and Geo. W. Applegate had each borrowed $5,000 of the bank for which they had given their notes. *The officers are as follows: President—W. D. Barnes.Vice President—P. A. Eurton.Cashier—Cyrus M. Barnes.The report of the hank's condition at the close of business December 31,1921, places the amount of capitalstock paid in at $10,000 and the total resources at $117,083,07. The total amounts of loans and discounts was placed at $102,830.43. The amount of demand deposits was $83,574.64 and the amount of certificates of deposit was $17,319.95.This bank was a private institution and every stockholder is liable for the full amount of any deficit that might be found. It is thought that the depositors will not lose anything.
