FRENZIEDw*Ex-Madlson Woman KilledHer HusbandFired Fatal Shot When She Could No Longer Withstand Insults,*iA dispatch in the Indianapolis Star J today, dated St. Louis, March 1, jsays: Mrs. Ada Owsley, whose j third husband, Benjamin S. Owsley, H divorced the mother of his seven children in order to marry her, four years ago, shot and killed him almost intsantly, in their home at 1219Warren street, today.When the police of the North Market Street Station rushed into the flat, they found the frenzied womanon her knees beside her huband’s body, wringing her hands and moaning that she had been unable longer to endure his atrocious indignitiesand cruelties.In the fight that preceded thetrag-edy, Mrs. Owsley suffered contus-sions of the face and body bruises and was sent direct to the City Hospital following her arrest. There she made a signed statement admitting the slaying, giving heinous mistreatment as a basis for it, and was held a prisoner in the observation ' ward with Patrolman Lindhorst as a special guard at the door of the cell.Although the woman, who is 36 years old, and fourteen years younger thao the slain man, declared she began firing as he came toward her 1shouting, “now, I’ll fix you,” the fatal bullet penetrated Owsley’s back on the left side, and probably went through his heart.Robert B. Owsley, a son of theslain man, denounced his stepmother as the wrecker of his family's happiness and declared be would exhaust every effort to see that she was prosecuted if it should appear that the shooting was not justifiable.Edward Ricketts, Mrs. Owsley’s 19 year-old son by her first marriage, said he was the owner of the revolver with which his mother slew her husband, bSt Robert Owsley averred his stepmother told his wife that she (the prisoner) had purchased a fine, new revolver, for protection against burglars.Mrs. Owsley formerly lived at Medison Ind.
