Chicago University Professb^One of the Twelve. •Chicago, March 2. —.A Jury waschosen yesterday to try the Standard il company .of jlndiana on a charge f accepting concessions from theChicago and Alton railroad. It has for one of its members Professor Frederick R. Dapprich!, instructor |in political economy at the University of Chicago, the educational institution built by the Rockefellermillions from the Receipts of the Standard Oil company.The jury was completed in the af-ternodn and the opening statement in the case was given this morning byAssistant District Attorney James H. Wilkerson. The first witness probably will take the stand this afternoon. I, Five of the jury which attorney for the defense insisted should be composed of representative business .men, -are grocers from Chicago residence districts and suburbs. Only one farmer succeeded in qualifying as a juror. The members of the jury are: -John C. Ayerlt;s, well driver, Chicago; John S. Hall, jeweler, Mount Carroll; Ray Cunningham, retired faftner, Bel-videre; E. D. Black, grocep, ^Yanklin •Grove; Frederick R. Dapprich, professor, Chicago; Hugh L. McGlvern, grocer, Chicago; August Popp, grocer, Chicago; C/E. Kercbeval, erapioye Economy Eight and Power .company, Joliet; E. B. Knecht, merchant tailor, Kankakee; Charles Plantz, grocer, Chicago; F. A. Reed, live stock buyer, Belvldere.Escapes Severe Quiz.Professor Dapprich was not questioned on whether the donations given •by John D. Rockefeller to the institution he represents would affect, his decision in the case. Wnen asked if he considered the Standard Oil conn pany a monopoly he answered in tb!,e affirmative.
