KINGSPORT, Tenn, (UPI)— The body of a 12-year*old girl, missing since Thursday, was found Saturday in acave in a wooded area about five miles from this eastTennessee town.A search for the child, Betty Jean Necessary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Necessary, was launched after she disappeared while walking home from school.Police said they assumed she had been abducted, just as three other little Tennessee girls have been in recent months.' : :Searchers first found Betty Jean’s school books scattered in a deep gully about 100 yards off the gravel road which she traveled to and from school.A spokesman for the highway patrol confirmed the body had been found, but could supply few other details. He said the body was taken to a local hospital for tests.Betty Jean was last seen walking home from Kingsley School, where she is a sixth grader.
