Tlie jury deliberated on the case one hour.Bowers, who had been employed on the farm of Edward Aushermau, near this city, is alleged to have passed a forged check In the store of Martin Horine in Burkittsville on November 8 and then ca ne to Hagerstown. He is alleged to have given a check for 325.60 in exchange for live gallons of gasoline, a pair of gloves and 323.65 in change.Four witnesses identified Bowers as the man who on the night of November 8 went to the Horine store, purchased some gasoline and carried it out in a can. Bowers admitted on the witness stand that he pleaded guilty live y^nrs ago to a charge of forgery in the Washington County Court. He added that he was paroled.
