Link seen possible j in teachers' deathsNEWPORT, Maine (UPI) — The death of a Pennsylvania woman — whose decomposed body was found here Sunday — might be related to the slaying of Newport school teacher Robert McKee two years ago, according to state police.Police Wednesday iden-I tified the body as Ellen f Choate, 23, of Media, Pa., last seen June 1, 1975 when she I was taking a train from Philadelphia to Boston on her , way to a teaching position in , the Newport-Dexter, Maine , area.She never showed up for the , job.McKee, who taught six-, thgrade in Pittsfield, was killed by a shot while on duty a summer job a gas station. Police said they believe Ms. Choate was also shot.Dr. Ryan and Dr. Irving I.Goodof, a Waterville pathologist and state medical officer confirmed Wednesday there was “a small unnatural hole” in the skull of Ms. Choate.Anne Choate, the victim’s mother, said that Ellen was going to take a plane to Boston and get a ride to the Bangor area from there. Mrs. Choate said her daughter was friendly and not afraid of people.‘‘Ellen was fiercely independent and very sure she’d be able to handle anything. Obviously, she couldn’t,” she said.When she dropped out of sight two years ago, Miss Choate’s boyfriend and several members of her family came to Maine to search for her but found nothing.
