Court wa* adjourned at 9:30.At the opening of court Friday morn lug the taking of testimony was begun. it was shown by witnesses that Mrs. Rodgers was shot by her husbandJame-t Rodgers, as she was ascendingtie* steps in the yard of Mrs. Ayres, u nlt; Ighbor, on the afternoon of March 14. He had called to her to return to rh* house and when .*-he refused toed Rodgers who wan standing belowthe lower side of the Rodgers home fired five shots at his wife at a distant** of about so re* t. one shot striking her in the calf of the right Rodgers, following the shooting, under took to tarry his wife to their home but -tumbled and fell on her. The woman was assisted into her home by n* ighlors and after being given firstaid treatment was moved to the Kittanning hospital. After leaving the hospital gangreene developed in the wound and the limb was amputated at the knee on April 12 Mrs Rodgers died the following day. death being due to the effects of the gunshot wound and shock.
