I1'. Van Miller's store a United States Treasury note with tho figures very cleverly raised from SI to Slo. Mrs Annie Morris, who was in charge of tbo store Saturday night, did not detect the counterfeit at tbo time, but Monday morning when sho examined tho money by daylight she at onceobserved it.Mrs. Morris described the man to Mr. Van Miller and lJato was arrested, and after being identified by Mrs. Morris, was locked up to be tried at police court this morning.Pat© denies tho charge and claims not to have had any money in his possession far some time and that he never dealt at Van Miller's store.vinton.
