West Bafen Drnggist Seriously Wounds Samuel Roberts.In a quarrel, resulting from “bad blood” of long standing, near the postoffiee at West Baden Monday afternoon, Samuel Roberts, town Marshal, was shot and seriously injured by Dr. John A. Ritter who fired one shot from a 32 caliber revolver, which penetrated Robert’s abdomen, but it is claimed he will recover.There had been trouble between them before and when they met Monday evening hot words were exchanged, followed by the shooting.Dr. Ritter is quite a prominent citizen of West Baden having been engaged in the practice of medicine there for a number of years. He also conducts a drug store and is proprietor of the Ritter House. Roberts has been marshal for about two years, and also conducted a hotel, Owing to the prominence of the parties the shooting has created quite a sensation.
