Hardin Amy and William Gold-j smith x two fishermen of Washington! townsti)^. had a contention last Friday ovCt* tneir respective claims to fish at certain points, which resulted iq a pitch battle with shotguns. It is reported that Goldsmith fired the first shot at Amy who was behind a tree and one shot took effect in his head. Amy then returned the fire and Goldsmith was struck in the breast with several shot. Amy came to town yesterday and swore out warrants against Goldsmith. The parties are not seriously hurt.
