Man pleads guilty to theftLITTLE ROCK (AP) -Charles H. Murdock, who was a prosecution witness in the murder trial of A C. Reed, has pleaded guilty to two counts of theft after negotiating for a deferment of sentencing for five years.Reed was acquitted April 3 of charges filed in the deaths of Ernest Dene Lanny” Landrum. 21, and Carmen Sue Margrave, 18, both of Pine Bluff.The two were killed Feb. 11, 1974 at a Little Rock park.Murdock testified at Reed’s trial that Reed had told him while they were in a federal penitentiary that he had killed Landrum and Miss Margrave.Murdock admitted in Pulaski Circuit Court on Tuesday to receiving a stolen auto on Oct. 25, 1978 He also admitted to using a stolen credit card to buy tires in Little Rock on Sept . 21.
