OKIAHOMA CITY (AP)-Lo-cal bookmaker Tracy “Pody” Poe, acquitted last week of fed-e r a 1 conspiracy-extortion charges, sued two prosecution witnesses and three FBI agents for $1.2 million Thursday.Poe named as defendants, G. Preston Clancey and Charles Dale Wilson, both of whom testified they received threats from two muscle men because of gambling debts they owed Poe.Poe, acquitted along with his telephone man, Constantine Deno Brice, also sued FBI agents Errol Myers, John D. Dewitt II and Macon C. Overton Jr.The suit claims the agents furnished Clancey and Wilson with recording equipment to tape record conservations with Poe.Poe, in the suit, claims such action was an invasion of his privacy and a violation of Oklahoma law. However, state law permits the taping of a telephone conversation with the permission of only one participant.Poe was reported in Missouri Thursday evening and could not be reached for comment.Poe’s attorney, Jack Love, said the suit was filed because the three agents urged the alleged victims to call Poe and record the conversations in an effort to entrap Poe.Love said this was the first lawsuit of its kind and “involves an important issue.”He said Poe “believes the ends don’t justify the means.”Poe asked for $1 million in punitive damages and $240,000 in actual damages. The actual damages include $100,000 for “humiliation, stress and mental strain, $100,000 for loss of business income incurred during the trial and $40,-(\Ofl in Ipcrnl fppc
