a^uiiliiiuea on Kage 14——Col. 5.)mGet Six Months' Sentences Result Of Resort AttackRay Smith, IB, and William Stepp, 21, both of Old Railroad, south of Sandusky, were sentenced to six months in the Erie-co jail today when they pleaded guilty in municipal court to assault and battery on two Huron youths and a 19-year-old' Sandus-kian at Cedar Point Friday night.Judge James A. Young and City Solicitor John W. Lehrer both described the attacks as vicious and entirely uncalled for. Two 17-year-old youths involved with Smith and Stepp in the attack were turned over to the Erie-co juvenile court.The injured youths were Thomas and James Hartley, 19 and 16 vears old of Huron, and George Gosa, 19. 1004 W. Market-st. All three displayed to the court wounds on their bodies ai\d head made by Stepp and Smith who admitted using a 20-inch long steel bar to inflict the cuts and bruises.Stepp and Smith gave no reason for making the vicious attack on the three youths who had their girl friends with them at the time, one of whom was knocked to the ground.Stepp admitted to the court that he had been involved in a tavern fight at Vermilion recently in which he “beat up” a man and had paid his hospital bill.Police Chief Russell A. Thom and Solicitor Lehrer in a joint statement today said such attacks on innocent people will not be tolerated in this community.In
