We understand that under conditions in the old court house, thiswas probably necessary, but with the | shipping oil from its well.new court house it should be different, j Mrs. Phillip and son Merrill spent there being much unassigned space in tin* day in Oxnard.Mrs. Clara Hartwell and son hav«\that the charges for maintenance of the county automobile are out of proportion to the charges made for the same service to private individuals, viz: $25 per month for storage and washing of the county car, and ?4 per month for private car storage, with 40 cents an hour for washing. As the expense of the county car will increase rapidly in the future, we recommend that the supervisors sell the old county auto at the best price obtainable, and purchase one new seven-passenger and one new four-passenger car and build a garage on conveniently located property already owned bythe county; employ a chauffeur at asthe new court house. Therefore, as a matter of public policy as well as economy, we urge the board of supervisors that they make assignment of offices in the court house to all the officers except the coroner and public administrator, who maintain their offices elsewhere at their own expense, and that they be required to maintain and keep open such offices at proper times fov the county business,“We recommend that the horticultural commission’s attention be calledto the excessive cost of day labor, as shown by Ramsey's report.“We recommend that legislativeaction be taken to prevent the combination of the offices of recorder and iustice in cities.Imoved into their new home on the corner of Fourth and Californialt;1istreets. |g|Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wornick drove to j f Fillmore Sunday in their Suidebaker, returning in the evening accompanied hy his father.
