ISorn^{. John Francis Whyte, aged 90 years, of Grandview, passed away at the home of his son, Gordon, sk on Tuesday, June 13. Funeral ser-m vices were held from the Tamarisk United church on Friday, June 16 with Rev. J. Scott officiating. Pallbearers were Ray and Sam Mitchell, Bernard Maxwell, Alex McKenzie, William Harris and Fen Martin. Interment took jc I place in the Tamarisk cemetery, j Sneath Strilchuk funeral service rV was in care of arrangements.He was born at Wexford County, Ireland where he was educated, coming to Canada to Grandview' in 1926 He moved to the Gilbert Plains district two years later and farmed there. He retired and in 1962 took up residence with his son. During War II he was employed with the Royal Canadian Airforce at Dauphin. He married Letitia Grant in Ireland in 1901 who survives him.Also surviving are four sons and two daughters: Gordon, of Grandview; Desmond, of Dauphin; Allan, of Gilbert Plains: and Leonard of Delaware, USA; Mrs. William Gunn (Lenora).
