A native of New York city, he is 34 years old, and has a scar on the ridge of his nose.Earlier yesetrday, San Mateo merchants had identified “Lester Duke” as one George Walter Anderson, alias Ernest G. Patrick, also a San Quentin' ‘ex-convict Similar identification* had been made by eight bilked merchants in Berkeley. However, apprehension of Gants placed some doubt on the identification.Acting chief of the division of criminal Identification in Sacramento, J. H. McClellan, in a teletype later in the day stated an opinion * the Anderson identification may be in error. He said at th* present time no prints or photographs are available in .the files.
