Clougherty Was Seen Walking Up and Down Albany St and Was Put Down as a “Spotter.” John J. Clougherty, aged 24, of 204 Hampden st, was arrested by reserve officer Flaherty for ringing a false alarm of fire from the box at the corner of Albany and Waysts, about 5:60 last evening. Clougherty, somewhat under the influence of liquor, was seen by people living in the vicinity walking up and down the street several times, and was set down by them as being a police officer doing “spotting” of some kind. They were surprised when he finally walked up to the fire box and rang the alarm. Having done that, he leisurely walked up Albanyst and disappeared. His de scription was given to Sergi Manning and Flaherty, and a short time later he was arrested.
