Fearing that the announcement of the passing away of the noted female might create too much excitement and tyave a bad effect on the accused Lam-phere, Mr. Nutzman kept the demise a profound secret until a Herald reporter “got next,” when he admitted the fact. Shortly before the Are Mr. Nutzman bought a fine cow of the arch murderess and named the bovine “Mrs. Gunness” and it died on above date, probably from the effects of bearing the name.A special telegram to The Herald from Chicago says that no friends or relatives attended the burial at Forest Home cemetery of the bodies of Mrs. Gunness and the three children. Mrs. John Larson, the sister, refused to go. There were no funeral services. Only officials were present. The bodies were first taken to the city hall, where burial permits were secured by F. L. Cutler, the LaPorte man In charge of the bodies.
