The people of Hanover township arc up in firms, ami the next man found thereabouts who can give no good account of himself will be “ strung tip at the yard-arm,’ so to speak. The reason for this excitement is that with* in the past eight weeks five or six horses have been stolen from the farmers of that township. The last attempt of the thief or thieves was to capture a horse belonging to J, H. Irish, of Brunswick. They tried hard to get into the barn, and had nearly succceded, when they were evidently frightened at the fear of dij^overy, and u vamosed the rancho.” It is geuerally believed that olv ono person has been engaged in this work, and that he runs the horses to some point west of Chicago. A tramp was caught laying around Bfimswick one day last week, and came near having his wind choked oflf, but on promising to clear out he was allowed to go free.
