Judge Sets W ril Hearing TomorrowPINE villi; — Circuit Judge \\\ R. Knuckles will hold a hearing on a writ of habeas corpus Wednesday .at 1 p. m. for four defendants charged with the murder of Roy Gambrel,The wril of habeas corpus Was filed Jutia 21 for John Holland, Everett Miller, Tim Lewis HJid^Elvin Lewis. The four were denied bail bond by County Judge R. G. Lowe June 36.At the June 16 hearing the ■prosecution introduced evidence supporting its conviction that the four are -responsible for tile murder of Roy Gambrel. The defense then renewed its appeal for .bond without introducing any evidence. Since the defense did hot introduce its evidence Judge Lowe ■ denied bond for rbe four defendants* Defense Attorney J. C Helton said this morning that he would introduce pail of his evidence at Wednesday's hearing,Gambrel was slam June 8 when a car-load of gunmen poured bullets into Gambrel and his wife and at 1he front of .their tome at Logan’s Switch.Gambrel died almost instantly* having been hit with four bullets. His wife, who was four months pregnant, was hit only once, Her physician said today that Mrs. Gambrel I is in excellent condition and lhat he expects that she will be able to go home within a day or two.Mrs. Gambrell, however, lost her child Saturday as a result 11 o[ a miscarriage.
