June ‘23—(A—A ’ury today convicted Beaver Conty Commissioner Howard A Hunter, a county relief investigator and a grocer 01 iraud in the issuance of $3,000 worth of relief orders to persons the stateclaimed did not exist.Hunter was convicted of false pretence. conspiracy, embezzlement andmisbehavior in office, the relief investigator, Peter Tkatch. ;f false pretense and conspiracy, and StanleyJurkowski. Ambridge, of false pretense. Jurkowski was acquitted ofconspiracy.Sentence was not imposed immediately.Jurkowski and Tkatch testified Hunter had told them the orders were “all right” and Jurkowski asserted the commissioner had several times personally obtained groceries on theorders. Hunter denied knowledge ot the orders and testified that when he got groceries he took them to relief clients who Were ill.
