PREPMIM TO *FESS UP.Two ot the Bonk Robbers Tell Wbnt They Bid With Their Mb ere of the Swag—They Will Make a Fall Confession of the Whole Case*[LadianftpolU Journal ]Fairbanks and Kennedy, two of the robbers of the Indiana National Bank who plead guilty, the other day, each receiving a two years’ sentence, have privately confessed to Judge Buskirk, of tbe Criminal Court, and Prosecuting Attorney Heller that they received $2,000 their “divy” of the swag. They had speat $30 of this when they became aware that the officers were close upon them, and not wishing to have tbe money found upon them went to Dr. J. T. Strong, one of the officers of the House of Befuge at Plainfield, with whom they were acquainted, and delivered $1,000 into his hands for safe keeping. Kennedy had the remainder, $170, in a a pocket book, and as he was about to be arrested, told Dr. Strong that he would throw tbe money into a waste basket, where it is presumed that gentleman afterwards found it. After the arrest of the men Dr. Strong testified against them in tbe City Court, and also before the grand jury, but made no mention of having received this money. It is believed that be turned the greenbacks over to tbe bank officials. Jakey Leas is said to have given tbe first intimation that the money was in tbe Doctor s possession, and for this “squeal” the prosecution asked the jury to return a verdict ot not guilty agaiost him, althou£ b there was evidence that he had followed Southgate to Illinois and to Dayton. Dr. Strong told Sheriff Press 1 y day before yesterdoy that he had received nearly $2,000 from Kennedy and Fairbanks. A Journal reporter called at the jail iBt evening to obtain an interview with these worthies, but was informed that the court bad ordered that no one be allowed to talk to them but the officers of that bastiie, the reason being assigned that they had promised to make a clean breast of all they knew concerning the robbery to Judge Buskirk and the prosecuting attorney, and the court didn’t want them tampered with beforehand by avaricious detectives or other parties “on the make.” The confession will probably be made to-day, and some startling developments are anticipated.FW
