T. B. Fountain To Be Given Hearing Thursday HE WILL SEEK BOND Frank Kahnfeld Still In State Coma Hearing on T. B. Fountain’s motion for a habeas corpus writ, through which he hopes to gain his liberty under bond on a charge of murder in con nection with the death of Mrs. Frank Kahnfeld, will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. before District Judge George C. O'Brien in the SSth district court at Beaumont. R. A. Shivers, Port Arthur attorney, filed Fountain’s mo tion this morning. Pending action by the court Fountain must remain in the county jail. No date for the examining trial of Mrs. Fountain, charged jointly with her husband in Mrs. Kahnfeld’s death, had been set by Justice J. K. Brack in this afternoon. Since the Port Acres altercation Friday in which Mrs. Kahnfeld was killed and her husband critically wounded Mrs. Fountain has been in a hysterical condition. She is slowly recuperating, it was said Monday, at the home of a friend on Seventeenth street. Witnesses at the examining trial said Mrs. Fountain fired one shot into Mrs. Kahnfeld’s body and another at Kahnfeld. Still in the coma which has gripped him for more than 66 hours. Kahnfeld remained barely alive this afternoon, according to Mary Gates hospital au thorities. He is suffering from skull fracture and concussion of the brain, nurses said. Fountain was denied bond on the murder charge after an examining hearing before Justice Brack in Satur day. Arrangements for Mrs. Kahnfeld’s funeral have not yet been completed.
