Laughead for abortion committed 011 Cecelia Develin. The document says the prosecuting witness, Cecelia Devlin, and one other important witness, Mollie Black, without whose evidence he cannot make a case, are out of the city temporarily, and that they can be got here for the trial next term of court. What it is expected to prove by these witnesses is set forth, and it is racy reading, showing how the abortion was performed. Among other things it is stated the witness will swear that “since the said Laughead has been arrested 011 this charge of abortion, the said Laughead met the witness on north Fourth street, in the city of Torre Haute, Indiana; that the cnid Laughead approached her and ‘I still love my ‘baby’ (meaning witness) better than anybody else, but I did not think you would prosecute me.
