When the girl held one object at length, as dog owners often do, the animal became angry.What is believed to have saved the girl's life was her thoughtfulness in remembering that her father had told her one time to lie on her stomach if attacked by the dog, thus protecting her throat. The girl did this and as a result was bitten mostly on the back of her head.Harvey police began another war on roving dogs following the close call experienced by the child.
