Cause* a Wreck on the Southern—Deed* of Devilish Negroes.Mu n ford. June 10.—(Special Correspondence.)—There was a slight accident on the Southern, three miles south of Munford. on Monday afternoon. An extra freight train was running at the rate of fifteen miles an hour, when a w heel bursted, caused by an old crack In the wheel. One pair of trucks jumps 1 from under the car and cleare l the track, falling down an embankment Into an old negro's cotton patch, whore the owner was at work. Ib' said that “he thought the third party had broken out In a n \v place.” The train was delayed about ten hours. No one was hurt. By the merest chance a terrible accident was averted.Some excitement was caused among the negroes of Jenifer this morning by another negro forcibly taking his wife Into th*» woods, carrying a shotgun, after having several limes threatened to kill her. Have* not learned the outcome of the affair.The Jenifer furnace will go In blast about August 1 for a run of several months.Yesterday about 3 o’clock two negroes entered a cabin of one of their race and stole therefrom a watch, shotgun and several other articles. The bloodhounds of Mr. W. S. Strickland wore sent for. arid after being puf upon the trail led a magnificent race of about seven miles in little over an hour, bringing up at a settlement of negro huts, where the frail was lost. However, several arrests were made.
