COLORED MAN IS STRUCK BY AUTO, KILLED INSTANTLYDriver of Machine Said to Have Been Intoxicated at Time of AccidentHenry Jones, 50t highly respected colored man of Chambersburg. v,os instantly killed last night in an automobile accident when he was hit by a car operated by Earl Weisgar-ber, of Federal court, Chambersburg, who, according to information furnished the Chambersburg police,was intoxicated at the timeJones was hauling household effects belonging to Nelson Sipes from a home on South Main street. At the time he uas loading a refrigerator on his truck. WeLsgarber. who was traveling south is alleged to have sideswiped several other cars. Janes had his chest crushed. He was immediately removed to theChambersburg hospital wnere he was pronounced dead.Weisgarber was taken into custody following an examination at the Chambersburg hospital and was held during the night in the lockup at police headquarters.Coroner A W. Thrush made a preliminary investigation last night and today arranged for an inquest. Jones’ body was removed to the Sellers Brothers Funeral Home where It was prepared for burialJones is survived by his wife, who has been an invalid for more than 3ft years.Besides his wife, Jones is sun ived by one stepdaughter, Viola Stanfield, Lancaster; also his mother, Mrs. Jennie Jones, and one brother, Robert, of Chambersburg, and one sister, Mrs. Delano Blakely, CJham-bersburg.The funeral will be held Friday at 2 o’clock with services at Sollers Bros. Burial will be made at Lebanon cemeteryCoroner A. W Thrush completed his preliminary investigation during the forenoon and arranged for aninquest at 10 o’clock Thursday forenoon. The Jurors selected are Lydia C. Heller. M D. Lemasters, Harry E. Brown, H M. Aughinbaugh, D L. Qreenawalt and Shirley J. Zarger
