Second Arkansas Site for Japs AnnouncedDermott, Ark., June 18-(/P)-The war relocation authority soon will convert 10,054 acres of farm and timber lands 10 miles south of Dermott into an evacuation camp for approximately 10,000 Japanese removed from Pacific coast military areas.The site, in Drew and Chicot counties, was acquired from the Farm Security administration which named it the Jerome Resettlement project. Whitaker, on leave from the FSA to direct the centers, said the Jerome camp would duplicate the Rohwer center on which armyengineers already have invited housing bids.
