(Continued From Page One) section with robbery and theft charges. At the time of his probation, King’s parents had been re quired to post a $100 bond. Still on official probation in April 1963, King was again taken before the court with jurisdic tion over underage offenders and his probation was revoked. The revocation, for violation of probation terms, was in con nection with charges that he had driven a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, and for alleged malicious mischief. Following the revocation of his probation, King was sent to the Gatesville Training School for Boys. In 1964, after being released from the training school on parole, King was arrested here on a sex offense. No disposition, of that case was made known. When terms of his parole, which was to be effective until age 21, were reportedly violated, King was arrested Jan. 22, 1966 and placed in the Potter County detention home. His 17th birthday was about three weeks away. According to officers, the youth escaped from the home Feb. 14, but was recaptured the same day. He was later returned to Gatesville. After the second trip to the training school, local officers have no record of his being in Amarillo or the immediate area. It was not known when King was released from Gatesville the second time. Mrs. Bryant, who married her Navy husband only one month ago, was found with a pajama top wrapped, but not tied, around her neck. Death was at tributed to strangulation. The partially clad victim ap parently had been sexually molested, San Diego detectives said. Bite marks reportedly were found on the upper portion of her body and a rape attempt had been made, the officer said. Mrs. Bryant and her husband, who is stationed at the U.S., Naval Hospital at San Diego, had lived in the apartment where she was slain about two weeks, spokesmen said. Officers in the California city theorized that the murderer had entered the apartment on the pretext of having business with a neighbor.
