Driver Held As Man DiesAn unlicensed truck' driver , has â– been held in $2,000 bail charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 75-year-old pedestrian' who died 31 hours after he was struck at 3rd and Highland yesterday. .Edward T. Quarles, 49, of 300 block Edwards sk, was arrested at his home at It p.m. after police were notified by Chester Hospital authorities of the death of Metro Seniw, 75. of 2716 W. 4th sk, a half hour earlier from head and bodyinjuries.Seniw had been struck by a truck driven by Quarles, police said, as the vehide swung oft Highland avenue into 3rd street. The truck, police said, is owned by Henry Berger, who conducts a plumbing supply business at 306 Edgmont av. Quarles was lined $10 for driving without a license by Magiestrate R. Robinson Lowry, who also set the bail in holding Quarles for the coroner's jury and a further hearing. Berger said Quarles had worked nor aim as a struck driver for 10 years and did have a driver's license last year, but apparently failed to renew it this year.Seniw was struck at 11.55 a.m., hut remained unidentified in the hospital until 4.20 p.m.
