Edward Murphy, who was arrested last week on suspicion of being insane, appeared before Magistrate McIntyre on Saturday afternoon for examina tion. He was somewhat violent and insisted upon being allowed his free dom. He was, however, sent back to gaol to await a medical examination. —John Hadley and Robin Smith, two young men who were fined for having figured in the disturbance on the Str. Crandella on the queen’s birth day, were arrested last Monday by Chief Bell and lenges gaol, having failed to pay their of $4.86 apiece. If the cash is not forthcoming they will spend seven days in Castle Jack “n. He Took a Header. Mr. Alf, Parkin, the speedy northward bicyclist met with a very serious accident at the agricultural park Tuesday evening. While working out a fast mile with Lieut. Young McCauley sant them coming but fail ed to gauge their speed correctly, the result loeing that Parkin struck his wheel with tremendous force and was thrown forward over the handle-bars about 15 feet, alighting on his head and face. When picked up he was insensible and bleeding freely, large patches of cuticle having gen removed from forehead to neck and_ raw flesh filled with and earth. was driven home and is now resting but will be eo yee eas tre cabs few bruises, but both wheels are wrecked.
