Caller Claims He Killed OC WomanBy J.J. MALONEY Register Staff WriterA man called The Register early Thursday and claimed he killed Dorothy Jane Scott, a 32-year-old Stanton mother who disappeared May 28 from a parking lot at UCI Medical Center in Orange.Miss Scott’s whereabouts have been unknown since then. The caller described articles of clothing Miss Scott was known to have been wearing, and state police said there was little doubt the call was genuine. The man talked to Pat Riley, managing editor of The Register, after reading a story in Thursday's morning edition. He said he killed Miss Scott because he caught her cheating with anotherman. The caller said he would only talk for two minutes, apparently to prevent the call from being traced (although The Registef1 does not have the equipment to tracfe phone calls). The caller indicated that on the night of the abduction Miss Scott had called him to say she was at the medical center. It was reported in Thursday’s editions that Miss Scott had gone to the center with two coworkers because one of them, Conrad Bostron, had a badly infected arm.The caller told Riley that Miss Scott said Bostron had a “spider bite. The Register confirmed that Bostron did have an infected insect bite on his arm.State police determined only a handful of people could have knownPlease See STORY, Page A19
