Two jail escapees facecapital murder chargesSTINNETT.Texas API -Capital murder charges have been filed against two escapees from the Hutchison County Jail after a Texas Ranger, a district attorneys investigator and a county commissioner arrested the pair without incident Sheriff Lon Blackmon said Tuesday jailer Jack Thompson was shot to death,apparently with his own 357revolver, during the breakout Monday night The jailbreakers wereidentified as George Marshall Hall and Michael Clyde Jones Hall had betn charged with contempt of court involving child support, while Jones was charged with arson and escape, having broken out of the same jail six weeks ago Justice of the Peace Nadme Spinks said capital murder and escape charges were filed against the men Tuesday after they were picked up on Texas Highway 136 on the west side ofBorgerBlackmon said an .Amarillo rancher who owned property near Borger became alarmed when hecould not complete atelephone call to the Borger property.Learning of the jailbreak, he telephoned officers County CommissionerMurry Jennings, who knew the location of the ranch,accompanied the arresting officers On their way, they saw Hall and Jones walking along the road and arrested them without incident Officers found a pistol in a trash container behind a Borger hotel Hall and Jones were returned to the Hutchison County jail, a facility which Blackmon said does not meet guidelines of the Texas Jail Standards Commission. Thebreakout was the third fromthe jail in the last ninemonths.He said Thompson was alone in the jail where he was apparently overpowered and shot to death
