ALL ROUND CROOKHE BEAT HIS BENEFACTOR OUTOF $67.And Was Later Arrested for the Theft Of a Cow in Van Buren County,Michigan.For a couple of clays, the sheriff and Goshen police have been lookingfor a smooth individual who traveled under the name of C. E. Morris. He was wanted for stealing a cow near Pawpaw, Van Buren county, Michigan. The Michigan authorities had reason to believe that he was in this section and were keeping the wires and Indiana authorities hot in search of him.The Michigan authorities were correct in their supposition, their man was in this county. He was at work in Jackson township. Here he made the acquaintance of William Buzzard, the well known berry raiser. He is a good talker and dresses well, and won the elderly man’s confidence. He even let drop the hint that he had been a detective and in other ways excited the old man’s interest.He pursuaded Mr. Buzzard to let him act as his agent, and he went to Marion with fifty crates of strawberries which he sold realizing $G7.
