Son questioned in murderThe Dana Point NewsCRIME LOGAn 85-year-old man was shot to death Monday morning and police held his 36-year-old son for questioning, authorities said.Police responded to the 32000 block of Buccaneer Street at about noon to reports of gunshots and found the man - identified by neighbors as Vaughn H. Roley - in the upstairs bedroom of his home with gunshot wounds to his torso, Orange County Sheriffs spokesman Jim Amormino said. A man said that his boss at a automobile repair shop battered him. The man claimed that he had glass sticking out of his hand as a result of the conflict. 8:13 a.m., June 3.LANTERN VILLAGEPacific Coast Highway, 34100 block: Disturbance. A number of juveniles were allegedly skateboarding on the roof of a bus. The informant tried to talk to them, but the subjects became aggressive. 2:40 p.m., June 8.La Cresta Drive/Blue Lantern Street: Petty theft. Two male juveniles allegedly climbed over a fence near the whale remains at R. H. Dana Elementary and began removing chairs fromthe property. 4:20 p.m., June 7.*MONARCH BAYNo incidents were reported.
