CORONADO MEDICAL OFFICER DIES OF HEART AILMENTComdr. James T. Vance, (MC) US NR, 310 2nd-st., died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the Naval Air Station, Atlantic City, N.J., while attending an Aero-Medical convention June 5. He had gone to the east by plane May 31 and was to have returned last Sunday.Comdr. Vance, attached to the Naval Air Station’s main dispensary at North Island, served with a Marine bombing squadron in the South Pacific during the war. He was a native of Santa Ana, practiced at Sacramento 14 years, and entered the Navy in 1940. He had resided here ll/2 years.The officer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Madeline Torrey Vance; a daughter, Eleanor Vance; two sons, James and Richard Vance, all of Coronado; his father, William P. Vance of Fullerton; four borthers and two sisters.Private funeral services will be hold at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, at Bonham Bros, chapel, followed by burial with military honors at Ft.
