Defendants Make Bonds Of $1,000Bond of #1,000 each was made by Dr. O. C. Boone, Lubbock chiropractor, and K. C. Stacy of Tahoka, Tueoday afternoon after the two and Raymond Short of Brownfield, had been charred with attempt to produce an abortion. Short remained in Jail late Tuesday night, in lieu of bond.The complaint was made by Tom Abel, Lubbock county sheriff, and sworn to before District Attorney Dan A. Blair. Bond was set by Peace Justice J. T. Trigg and defendants were bound over to awaitaction of a district court grand Jury Sept. 2.Short was arrested Monday at Tahoka and brought to Lubbock by Sheriff B. L. Parker. He was Questioned Monday night, Boone Tuesday morning by Sheriff Abel and by District Attorney Blair.The charge sets out an attempt of the men to produce an abortion on a 17-year-old Tahoka girl, who was pregnant, upon her own consent. Stacy is charged with having had an improper affair with the girl, whom he is charged with bringing to Lubbock Sunday for the operation. A Brownfield woman accompanied him here, it was said.
