Hat Tli»y C*ll It SuicideOmaha, Njeb., June 11.—[Special.]—Karl Borlson, a Swede living in the vicinity of R user's park on the bank of the Little Pappio creek, discovered a “tloater” yesterday afternoon. He immediately came to Omaha and notified Coroner Harrigan. J)r. Harrigan sent ■word to Constable Ding man to secure a rig and prepare to accompany him.The two set out upon the trip, and behind a swift span of horses were soon at the scene of the death, where fully 100 'farmers had collected to witness the spectacle of a mau lying in the water. Constable Dingman appealed to bystanders for assistance and several volunteered their services to enter the roaring Pappio, and remove from its waters the body.After considerable difficulty the body w as set ashore. It was readily identified as that of Charles Lewis, a Swede in the employ of a saloon keepeAiamed Paterson. The bodv was badly decomposed and considerably bloated. It is said, upon w hatappears to he good authority, that about ten days ago Lewis made an attempt to commit rape upon the little four-year-old daughter of Constable Ford, residing j near there. It is al#o asserted that Lewis !attempted to accomplish the ruin of a 1little girl, Tho mother, learn iug of the’base act, grabbed an ax and approaching Lewis assaulted him.
