Pabdoked.—Walter H. Holmes, who wasarrested and sentenced to Clinton Penitentiary for a term of years for erasing names of citizens previous to the draft from the enrolment list of the 17tli Ward for $25 a piece, while be was in tbe Provost Marshal's Office of (ho Second! Congressional District, has been pardoned by the President and released ivom confinement. His pardon was mainly brought about by his wife, who went to Washington and interceded with the President in bis behalf. Holmes was arrested in February last on a charge of highway robbery on a John Oliver, but was acquitted by Justice Dailey. It is understood that he will be re-arrested on the same charge on his return to this city, Oliver having brought tbe matter before the Orand Jury.
