grave robbedBofly of a Young Woman Burled Several Tears Ago Removed,Hubbell, Neb., June 13.—[Special.]—Mr. and Mrs (ieorge Newbury., nowliving in Colorado, died at this placeafter a short illness lasting less than aJ fortnight and was interred in the MapleI gTove cemetery, five miles southeast of town. The occasion was a sad one, as she had made for herself a large acquaintance. On Decoration day, a little more than two weeks ago, while the 1,000 peoplewere gathering at the pretty grove at Ida to witness the exercises of the day, Samuel Newbury, a brother to the dead girl, in company with a friend from HubbelL, visited the grave, and to their astonishment the appearances showed traces of fresh ground and signs of a disturbance as though someone had been tampering with it. The thought struck the young men at once that the grave had been robbed, and immediately procuring a spade, with which to probe the matter to the bottom, they began asearch after the body. After digging for some time they reached the casket. Opening it, they found it to be empty, the body having been removed. Therobbery is alleged to have b( en made by someone who is procuring skeletons and dead bodies for dissecting and practicmg purposes.
