Alianza attemptsanother arresti-los Lunas, n.m. lt;ap) -sixmembers of Reies Lopet Tijerina's Aiianza attempted to make a citizens' arrest of U. S, Fores! Service special agent James Evans at his home near Los Lunas Monday night, but Evans wasn't at home.The Alianza delegfttloh, led by Wilfredo Sedlllo, was met at Evans* home by seven Slate Police officers, Valencia County sheriff Jack Elkins and two deputies. The Aliahza delegation was unarmed and submitted to t search by officers.Tijerina had told a news conference Monday afternoon that whatever force necessary would be used to arrest Evans.*Tf we shoot him, he will die resisting arrest,” TIjeriha had said.But Tijerina was not among the group that drove up to Evans’ home about 10 p.m. After being searched, sevoral of the group walked to the door ftnd sedlllo knocked oh it,A State PUcemftrt told them no one was home.Sedlllo knocked again, received hO reply arid then it ad the citizens* arrest warrant and attached the warrant 10 the house*The warrant, Signed by Tije-tlne* accused Evans of conspiracy, assault and battery, attempted murder, denial of civil fights, false arrest and kidnap*leg.The citizens’ arrest attempt was the outgrowth of an Incl* dent Sunday at Coyote In northern Mew Mexico in which Tijerina was arrested by Evans on federal charges of Interfering with an arrest.
