Fevehouse contacted Federal Judge Allan Han-nay but was advised that Kennerly handled such matters.On April 8, 194', Ray raped the little girl in a secluded Fort Worth park. He was convicted nearly two years ago.Ho missed the electric chair the first time when an ommlssion was discovered in the trial court records, after the court of criminal appeals had affirmed the death verdict.Ray was saved the second time last May 19, seven hours before he was to die, when the parents of his victim asked that the sentence be commuted to life imprisonment. The pardon board granted a 20-day reprieve, later the parents withdrew their plea.Since then the pardon board has been silent on the case.Pevehouse said another of Ray's attorneys, Preston Pope Reynolds of Dallas, was unsuccessful* Wednesday in attempting to get the U. S. Supreme Court to intervene.
