has been in the city since yesterday.STEALING A PLOW.About six weeks since two men, one named Campbell and the other Nprthcratt, both river rats and very hard citizens, came down the river in a skiff, bringing with them a new and valuable two horse plow. Wes Butner who is generally pretty well posted as to the morements of this class of citizens, was informed of the fact and he soon discovered that they had buried the plow under the manure in a stable at the old still house, two miles up the nyer. The plow was kept there several weeks and then Mr. Butner quietly traced it across the river to a party on the Sny Island who had innocently purchased it. In lhe meantime, Mr. Butner discovered that William Collins, a farmer three miles above West Quincy, had lo3t a plow. Thqlarhier was written to, came down to uJe^Suy'Island, identified the plow and took8*it'‘home. Monday morning Mr. Butner nabbed Campbell in the city, and the same evening lie and Mr. Buchanan went to the old still house where they found Ndrthcratt, and they also took that gentleman in out ol the cold.
