Investigation continues into a two-car collission west of Havre that left four men under hospital intensive careMontana Highway Patrolman Gordon Hage, Chester, and three other men were severely injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision at Sande’s Taver about 10 miles west of Havre on U S. Highway 2.According to information released by the patrol Wednesday in Havre, Hage was east bound on U.S. 2 near the tavern when a west-bound 1968 Plymouth carrying three persons turned into the tavern’s gravel parking lot directly in front of him A head-on collision resulted, bvoth vehicles were totaled, and Hage’s car caught fireHage was tlown to a Billings hospital where, as of Wednesday afternoon, he was in intensive care The three oc cupants of the Plymouth were placed in intensive care at Northern Montana Hospital As of Thursday morning, one of the three men was listed in critical condition and the other two were listed in serious conditionAll four men involved in the Tuesday afternoon accident are in their 20s The MHP listed the three occupants of the Plymouth as Arthur Campbell, Vincent Moreno, and Manuel Moreno. Campbell and the two Morenos are from the Havre areaCity firemen were called to the scene of the accident to extinguish the fire in Hage's MHP cruiser The head-on collision apparently caused a rupture in the fuel line near the cruiser’s carburetor and casued the spilled gasoline to ignite Firemen used a portable extinguisher prior to removing Hage from the cruiserBesides the Havre Fire Department, the MHP received assistance at the scene from personnel of the Hill County Sheriff’s Office and the U S Border Patrol
