Ryderwood Dies In AuA 65-year-old Ryderwood woman, tentatively identified as Mrs. Bertha M. McCarthy, died early Saturday morning In spectacular • one-car crash over a 50-foot embankment adjacent to the Cowlitz river bridge three miles south of Toledo on the Pacific highway.State Patrolman E. L. 'Larson, investigating officer, said'the Vehicle traveled a total of 790 feet from where it left the highway to: where it came to a stop 100 fenti from the swift-flowing Cowlitz river.Larson said the vehicle traveled nut of control on the shoulder of the road 180 feet, before it smashed a four by six-fool road sign; continued another 165 feel, then plunged over a 50-foot embankment aud traveled 350 feet in the air before striking the ground and rolling another 95 feet to its final resting place.The body of the victim was strip-, ped as it was thrown out of the|Woman to Crash1948-model auto.
